Some commentators have suggested that virtualisation has been superseded by Cloud on the IT management agenda but the reality is the two are directly linked. The current consensus is that virtualisation is a fundamental enabler for Cloud and that without support for heterogeneous virtual systems and associated performance and capacity management, there is no scope for Cloud computing.
